J.R. Counseling is a safe space. In this space hope is held and in the darkness we see light. What I have come to learn in my years of experience is that people fear they are broken and that in that brokenness they are alone.

Claudia has enjoyed helping people all her life. She will graduate from the CACREP accredited Master’s in Counseling program at Oakland University, Rochester, MI in 2020 and will work in private practice specializing in fertility and family building for all populations. She interned as a public relations for a summer at the Oakland County 6th  Circuit Courthouse in the Court Administrator’s Office. She worked as a layperson crisis counselor at Common Ground gaining an appreciation and knowledge of community outreach.

She is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and Chi Sigma Iota Scholastic Honorary Society.  Her current internship at JR Counseling in Sterling Heights will build on her couples and families classwork in mental health and sexual health.

Claudia understands that most couples and individuals first encounter with an infertility diagnosis can trigger a roller coaster of emotions. Beyond seeking practical information on navigating the fertility world, they want support for their interpersonal, emotional, medical, and broad options available. Claudia also is aware of how life stressors can impede on self as it relates to anxiety, depression, and mood swings.

"I specialize in viewing you in context, while exploring the personal goals you want to achieve in your life". Preserving sexuality as it intersects with fertility can lead to many questions. Together, we will set goals using a wellness approach.
